Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2025

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the House of TALAR platform.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use our platform, we collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, phone number, and any details you share during the booking or onboarding process. We also collect information automatically, such as your device type, browser, and how you interact with the platform, to help us improve our service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and manage your account, process bookings and payments, match you with appropriate counsellors, send you session reminders and important service communications, and improve the platform experience. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Session Confidentiality

The content of your counselling sessions is confidential. Session notes are accessible only to your assigned counsellor and are not shared with other staff except where required by law or in circumstances involving serious risk of harm. We do not record video sessions without your explicit consent.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. Video sessions are conducted over end-to-end encrypted connections. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

5. Sharing Your Information

We only share your information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate the platform — such as payment processors and video infrastructure providers — and only to the extent necessary for them to provide those services. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may not use it for any other purpose.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate data, request deletion of your account and associated data, and withdraw consent for communications at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@talar.co.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the platform is used so we can improve it. You can adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though this may affect certain platform features.

8. Children's Privacy

Our platform is not directed at children under 13. Users under 18 accessing teen counselling services do so with parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a notice on the platform. The date at the top of this page will always reflect when the policy was last revised.

10. Contact Us

If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, please contact us at hello@talar.co.
